I bought a dozen and a half of these to try out. I have never used cable stakes before and i really liked them for the most part. They work great in a dry ground but we started getting heavy rains and warm temps after i set these out and they dont work great in heavily saturated ground. I was able to pull them out with my bare hands our ground was so wet so i would opt for the finned ones if you are going to be in a wet climate. But once the ground freezes or you dont have 12in of rain in a week you will need to dig them out because they are there to stay. |

Fox Hollow Super Stakes |
1/30/2014 |
Last season was the first time I started experimenting with cable stakes. I have tried most from Berkshires to Wolf Fangs. Well in the New Mexico sandstone only one stake stood up to the test and they are the Fox Hollow Super Stakes. I would recommend them to any serious trapper. I have never had a pull out and they have deterred several trap thieves. |
