 Detailed Description

This sifter’s framework is LASER CUT from 14 gauge steel. Each corner has been welded and then ground clean and smooth, there are no sharp edges. The bottom screen is a heavy gauge, stepped mesh that shreds sod and breaks up dirt faster than a smooth mesh. It has a 3/4 x 1/4 inch diamond mesh pattern. The bottom of the sifter measures 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. All four sides are tapered which allows you to use any side for scraping and scooping up dirt.

This is an excellent sifter, very heavy duty should last, as the name implies, a lifetime. Thanks to the Caven family for the excellent service.

Well built, but! 1/26/2015
It is a very solid built item, Its way to heavy to carry a long distance and what I found is that the 3/4 screen is too big and rocks and other bigger pieces can get through the screen and foul up the trap. If this was a bit lighter and had smaller screen, it would be a great item.

great sifter 9/4/2014
I disagree with description, it does have some sharp edges and it drew blood as I pulled it out of the shipping box. I took a file to it and removed the burrs. I used it to shift soil and peat moss, it worked well. It is heavier than I anticipated, but is of high quality.

Great construction and design 6/17/2013
I have two of these, the first model and the second series. The newer one is made from a slightly thinner material, which I like. The first model was too heavy for carrying a distance to make a set. I especially like the expanded metal diamond shape sifter screen. It makes it easy the grate a dirt clod to make finer soil to cover traps. As the name says, it should last a lifetime and is easy to use.
