I ordered a dozen #1 and # 1 1/2 Duke DJ coil spring traps. I like the idea of the DJ for muskrat, mink and coon. Well after a lot of tweaking fileing and some modifications I got them right wear I wanted them. I broke out my pan trap tested and completed 8 or 9 and noticed that the jaws were bending around the pan tester. The reason for this is two fold. 1. Cheap unacceptable steel in the jaws. 2. The DJ was punched out of the existing jaw vice adding another piece of metal making it twice as weak. Only way to fix it was to bend the DJ back up making it just like a regular jaw almost. Not impressed at all. There was a lot of sharp edges I mean lot on the traps. More or less converted all to the Muskrat line. Probably will not buy this brand again for just a little more money Bridgers are a better budget trap. I gave it a 2 overall. Maybe I got two bad batches of steel but also got 1 #2 coil to try and the first time out it got destroyed by a large coon which had to be taken apart and straighten on the anvil then beefed up with baseplate and laminations. Which has held up since then. Almost all dogs on a lot of these new traps had to be adjusted everytime even while on a muskrat line. That steel will hold game but no traps should bend this easily consistently
